Ivory, 52, is serving as the 2011 Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Virginius Dabney Distinguished Professor.  He  will teach print and multimedia courses to undergraduate and graduate students in VCU’s School of Mass Communications during the 2011 spring and fall academic semesters.
 
Ivory is also president and CEO of Ivory Communications, an all-purpose media consulting and marketing firm based in Northern Virginia.  Ivory held a variety of positions in Gannett Co. Inc., where he worked until December 2007.  Most recently, (more…)

Jessica Geter - Programs & Special Events Director - Miami-Dade Chamber of CommerceJessica Jade Geter is currently the Programs & Special Events Director for the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce.   Jessica is over the management of a federally funded grant technical assistance program, which allows her to produce all special events hosted by the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce and partners. Ms. Geter is also responsible for the growth and development of chamber membership, to advise and provide technical assistance programming to fit the needs of small to medium minority business within Miami-Dade County.

Ms. Geter is also a board member of the Young Professional Network of Miami. She serves on the executive board as the liaison. Her duties are to develop, empower and connect young professionals in Miami-Dade County, by providing: programming, events and assistance to young entrepreneurs and professionals working in the corporate sector.

Before her current position, Ms. Geter served as the Commission Aide to Miami Dade County Commissioner Barbara J. Jordan of District 1, specializing in Community Outreach and serving on the 2010 Super Bowl and Pro Bowl Committees.  She worked as the Community Relations & Executive Relations Assistant for the Orange Bowl Committee during their double hosting year which included the 2008 BCS National Championship and 75th Orange Bowl Anniversary games. During her graduate studies she worked as the Administrative Marketing Assistant for the Norfolk State University Athletics Foundation.

Jessica received a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from North Carolina A&T State University and her Master of Arts degree in Media and Communications from Norfolk State University. She prides herself as being a product of HBCU education and often speaks at local Miami-Dade high schools and universities about continuing education, professional development and leadership.

Jessica is a native of Farmville, VA, an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Miami Alumnae Chapter, active member of the North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University South Florida Alumni Chapter, and a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Miami Gardens where she serves on the usher board and Voices Mass Choir. In her spare time Jessica is a plus-size model and is signed to Posche Models located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
